Hug A Pug
We run ‘Hug a Pug’ events around New Zealand to raise funds exclusively for New Zealand Pug Rescue.
About Hug A Pug New Zealand
Who wouldn’t want to hug a pug? Especially when it is for a good cause.
Hug A Pug New Zealand, along with regional pug clubs, organise fundraising events where you can spend time with, and of course hug, our precious pugs in exchange for a gold coin donation.
All proceeds go towards New Zealand Pug Rescue, which just as its name suggests, helps Pugs throughout New Zealand when in need.
We’ve previously held events in Christchurch, Tauranga and Wellington, with more coming soon.
Please note that the Auckland Hug A Pug events are run by a separate organisation and from 2020 are not for the benefit of NZ Pug Rescue.

What do NZ Pug Rescue do?
NZ Pug Rescue provide educational breed information and co-ordinate Pug Rescue/re-housing New Zealand wide.
They take in Pugs of any age, including those with health issues. Most are able to be placed into pre-approved new loving homes. Those that are unable to be placed because of age or health problems get to live out their lives in one of the team’s own homes.
